The state’s top health officer has raised a red flag over a spike in the number of COVID-19 cases that have been diagnosed and hospitalized in recent days.
Counties across the Southland have reported fewer coronavirus cases and deaths in the past few weeks, though officials worry there might be a spike following the Labor Day holiday.
The state health department said it's not seeing an up-tick in coronavirus cases more than two weeks after the Labor Day weekend, but added this is not a time to relax safety precautions.
