With heavy snowfall this season, cold waves have gripped the Kashmir Valley.
It led to the partial freezing of Dal Lake at the beginning of the season.
Temperatures plummeted across the Valley as parts of the Dal Lake froze on January 11.
As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature of Srinagar has been predicted as 0.0 degree Celsius and maximum temperature is 6.0 degree Celsius with fog and mist.
Continuous heavy rainfall has battered numerous areas of Jammu and Kashmir, compelling the Union territory administration to take precautionary measures by closing schools across the Kashmir valley and Reasi district, as reported by officials. The persistent downpour in recent days has inflicted severe damage in various regions. Flash floods and landslides, triggered by the torrential rain, have affected parts of Poonch and northern Kashmir, resulting in damage to both public infrastructure and private property.
