Dogra Front activists stage protest against web series 'Tandav'
Activists of Dogra Front on January 20 staged protest against the web series 'Tandav' in Jammu and Kashmir's Dogra.
'Tandav', an Amazon Prime Video-based series addressed the backlash against its content that has hurt religious sentiments of many viewers.
Muslim people also showed their anguish against the web series by showing placards.
The protestors alleged that the creators of the web series have tried to disrupt the communal harmony in the country.
Earlier in the day, Maharashtra Government has received a complaint regarding 'Tandav' and will be taking appropriate action against the web series.
Earlier on Monday, the cast and crew of the Saif Ali Khan starrer political-drama had extended their apologies to the viewers for "unintentionally" hurting their sentiments.
An FIR was also registered at Lucknow's Hazratganj Kotwali against Amazon Prime's India and team of 'tandav' for allegedly hurting religious sentiments on Monday.
While speaking to media in Mumbai on February 21, the Relief and Rehabilitation Minister of Maharashtra, Vijay Wadettiwar spoke on surge in COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra. Wadettiwar said, "In view of rising COVID-19 cases in districts like Nagpur, Amravati, Yavatmal, Maharashtra Government is thinking of imposing a night curfew in the districts." "A meeting chaired by the Chief Minister to be held soon to take a decision," he added.
Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, who was scheduled to visit Uttarakhand on February 11, was denied from boarding a government plane after reaching the Mumbai airport today, and was told that permission for the same had not been given. An on-duty police sub-inspector allegedly shot himself dead near UP Assembly complex. Police said that the incident took place at the parking lot located across the state Assembly. Sub-inspector Nirmal Choubey, 53, shot himself using his service revolver around 3.30 pm. In the suicide note left behind, Choubey - who was from Varanasi - said that he was ill. “ Choubey was posted at Banthra police station in the city as a sub-inspector. He was deployed on duty in the parking lot near Assembly gate number 7. After the incident, he was taken to nearby Civil Hospital where he was declared dead. In the suicide note left behind, sub-inspector Nirmal Choubey said he was ill,” Naveen Arora, Joint Commissioner (Law & Order), Lucknow said. Police added that a case has been registered and the investigation is on.
