'Gathering 5k people against COVID regulations': Chittoor SP after denying protest permission to TDP chief
While speaking to media on March 01, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Chittoor District, S Senthil Kumar spoke on permission denied to former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu from conducting protest.
SP Kumar said, "District police denied permission to former CM N Chandrababu Naidu's agitation.
As its nature was such that entire town would get jammed resulting in public suffering.
Organisers were requested to look for alternative locations on outskirts of city but they refused." "Organisers were planning to gather 5,000 party supporters which is a clear violation of COVID-19 regulations.
With the upcoming urban local elections, protest of this nature would be a violation of the model code of conduct," he added.
