TMC Councillors, Bidhannagar Mayor-in-council join BJP

Three TMC Councillors from Asansol and Bidhannagar Mayor-in-council Debasish Jana joined BJP on March 03.

They joined party in presence of West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh.

West Bengal Assembly elections will be held in eight phases starting from March 27 with the final round of voting taking place on April 29.

Counting of votes will take place on May 02.

On Monday, the Election Commission issued reprimands to BJP leader Dilip Ghosh and Congress leader Supriya Shrinate for their comments concerning West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and actor Kangana Ranaut, respectively. “The Commission, in its order today after the receipt of their replies to notices issued to them over MCC violations, said they are convinced that they made a low-level personal attack and thus violated the provisions of Model Code of Conduct. They have been warned to remain careful in public utterances during the Model Code of Conduct period” an EC source said.
