1 year of war in Ukraine: a look back at Russia’s invasion | AFP

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, with missile strikes on several cities and ground forces entering the country from the north, south, and east.

A year into the war, tens of thousands of lives have been lost and millions of people have been displaced.

The conflict has plunged Europe into its most dangerous crisis since World War II and pushed the NATO allies into the biggest overhaul of their defences since the Soviet Union collapsed.
