Wagner mercenary leader accuses Moscow of abandoning positions in Bakhmut
The leader of the Wagner mercenary group Yevgeny Prigozhin has directly appealed to the Russian Ministry of Defence not to abandon positions around the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut.
As Vladimir Putin commemorates Victory Day with a massive military parade and China's Xi Jinping by his side, Russia and Ukraine accuse each other of violating a short-lived three-day ceasefire. While Putin vows to be an “indestructible barrier against Nazism,” Ukraine dismisses the rhetoric and escalates drone attacks on Moscow and Belgorod. Russia counters with claims of over 5,000 Ukrainian violations.
