Suella Braverman, the home secretary, said: āWagner is a violent and destructive organisation which has acted as a military tool of Vladimir Putinās Russia overseas. They are terrorists, plain and simple ā and this proscription order makes that clear in UK law. Under the Terrorism Act, the Home Secretary has the power to ban an organization if they are involved in terrorism. A draft order will be laid in parliament on Wednesday, which will make it illegal to be a member of or support the Russian group in the UK.
