PM promises to ban 'dangerous' XL bully dogs by end of year
American XL bully dogs will be banned by the end of the year following a series of attacks, Rishi Sunak has said.
The prime minister made the promise after it emerged a man has died after being attacked by two dogs - suspected to be bully XLs - in Birmingham and following a video of another attack that went viral when an 11-year-old girl suffered serious injuries.

The funeral has taken place of an aid worker who was killed in Gaza last month. 47-year-old James Kirby died when his convoy was struck by an Israeli air strike. Around four hundred people gathered in Bristol today for James's funeral. His friend paid a touching tribute to him, saying that "he canāt be replaced by anyone, no one can ever take his part. The funeral of British aid worker James Kirby has taken place today at St Mary Redcliffe Church in Bristol. Mr Kirby, 47, was one of seven World Central Kitchen (WCK) workers killed in an Israeli drone attack in Gaza in April. Two men have been jailed for life for the murder of footballer Cody Fisher, who was stabbed on Boxing Day, 2022. Remy Gordon, 23, and Kami Carpenter, 22, were both found guilty of his murder last month.
