Govt: We want to clamp down on scourge of youth vaping

The health secretary has hailed the government's new Tobacco and Vapes Bill as "groundbreaking" legislation.

Vaping and smoking in playgrounds and outside schools could be banned, but Labour has rowed back on plans to make it illegal to smoke in pub beer gardens.

Wes Streeting said the change was made due to the "pressures on UK hospitality".

Streeting opposes assisted dying due to poor palliative care

Health Secretary Wes Streeting voices concern over a proposed bill to legalise assisted dying. He says, “failures in palliative care mean that assisted dying wouldn’t give people a real choice. It would become not a right to die, but effectively an obligation to die because the support isn’t there for good end-of-life care”. Report by Ajagbef.
