Vivek Venkataswamy, Telangana BJP manifesto committee chairman quits party, joins Congress

Former BJP MP G Vivek Venkataswamy has resigned from the party and joined the Congress ahead of the Assembly polls in Telangana. The announcement was made in the presence of former AICC president Rahul Gandhi. Venkataswamy, who was also the Chairman of the Telangana BJP manifesto committee, criticized the ruling TRS government and called for the opposition to unite against it. This comes after another senior BJP leader, Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy, resigned from the party.
