Permit only CNG, electric, BS VI-compliant vehicles in Delhi-NCR: Gopal Rai urges centre
Saturday, 4 November 2023 Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has called on the Indian government to only allow CNG, electric, and BS VI-compliant vehicles in the Delhi-NCR region to combat air pollution. He expressed concerns about the expected deterioration in air quality due to Diwali celebrations and stubble burning in neighboring states. Rai also suggested implementing a ban on non-compliant vehicles throughout the National Capital Region. Delhi's air quality has worsened in recent weeks due to dropping temperatures, calm winds, and increased agricultural burning.
