Brics calls extraordinary virtual meeting on Gaza issue

Leaders of the Brics countries, along with newly added member-states, will participate in a virtual meeting to discuss the Israel-Hamas conflict. Russian President Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping have confirmed their participation, while India is expected to be represented by Foreign Minister S Jaishankar. The meeting will be chaired by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, and a joint statement on Gaza will be issued. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will also be present.
