'There is no question of ... ': Education minister clarifies on DU's Manusmriti proposal

IndiaTimes Friday, 12 July 2024
Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan confirmed that Delhi University's vice-chancellor, Yogesh Singh, rejected a proposal to include Manusmriti in the LLB curriculum. This proposal was dismissed before the academic council meeting, ensuring no such content would be taught. BSP Chief Mayawati praised the decision for upholding the Constitution’s principles. When the reports of teaching came out Congress criticized it as part of RSS’s efforts to undermine Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy and the Constitution.
