Trucks stranded on broken NHs, Mizoram stares at shortage of fuel, essential items
Sunday, 15 September 2024 Mizoram is grappling with severe shortages of fuel and essential goods as many trucks and tankers are immobilized by the poor state of NH-306/06. The Mizoram Oil Tanker Drivers' Association along with the Petroleum Entrepreneurs' and Transporters' Union have declared an indefinite suspension of oil tanker services from Assam beginning Tuesday, due to hazardous road conditions.
Over the past 24 hours, relentless monsoon rains have devastated Northeast India, leading to catastrophic flooding and landslides that have claimed at least 22 lives across multiple states. The most affected regions include Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Tripura
