Former CBI director Vijay Shankar passes away at 76

Vijay Shankar, former CBI director and a 1969-batch IPS officer from Uttar Pradesh, passed away at 76 after a prolonged illness. His family will donate his body to AIIMS as per his last wish. Shankar oversaw high-profile cases like the Aarushi-Hemraj double murder and supervised the investigation into the Telgi scam during his tenure.
