Scorpion venom offers new hope for breast cancer patients: Study

Brazilian scientists have identified a molecule, BamazScplp1, in Amazonian scorpion venom that effectively kills breast cancer cells in early tests. This molecule induces cell death through necrosis, similar to the chemotherapy drug paclitaxel, while minimizing harm to healthy tissues. Researchers are using yeast to mass-produce this promising peptide, potentially paving the way for innovative and less invasive breast cancer treatments.
