Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh was arrested on Wednesday by the Enforcement Directorate following the central agency's searches at his residence in connection with its money laundering probe into alleged irregularities in Delhi excise policy 2021-22. Sanjay Singh was arrested under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The probe agency alleged that he played a key role in the formulation and implementation of the now scrapped policy which benefited certain liquor manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers.

Around 43 people including 23 Army personnel and 20 civilians are missing in Sikkim after a cloudburst triggered flash floods in the Teesta River. As per the latest reports, three people died and 23 army personnel were washed away on Wednesday. The Army and the local administration have said that a massive search has been launched to locate the missing people. A statement by the Army's Eastern Command has said that some establishments along Lachen valley have been affected.

NewsClick founder and Editor-in-Chief, Prabir Purkayastha was arrested by the Delhi Police on Tuesday in connection with a case filed under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). According to reports, he has been remanded to 7-day police custody. The Human Resources Head of the news portal NewsClick, Amit Chakravarty, who was arrested along with Purkayastha, has also been sent to police custody by the special court.
