Taiwan embarks on simulated drills against any future Chinese aggressions | Oneindia News
For the first time, the self-governed island of Taiwan has simulated Chinese attacks in its emergency drills.
This comes in the backdrop of China’s simulation of precision attacks on key targets in Taiwan last month.
Back then, Chinese Navy had launched simulated drills for a future attack on Taiwan in response to the island president’s meeting with the US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
In last year August as well, China had conducted a mock drill preparing for invasion of Taiwan.
The mock drills had included “tactical maneuvers” by the Chinese navy.
China’s newest warship Qinzhou has completed a dramatic live-fire drill just days after joining the PLA Navy’s Southern Theater Command. The stealth frigate Type 054B, hull number 555, was seen in state media footage sinking a target using its main gun and close-in weapon system. This marks Beijing’s bold push to expand naval dominance in disputed waters. As tensions rise, military analysts say the ship’s firepower and far-seas capabilities fit China’s long-term strategy to control critical trade routes and deter rivals in the South China Sea.
