Emmys to Be Postponed Due to Hollywood Strikes

Emmys to Be Postponed , Due to Hollywood Strikes.

The 75th Emmys were originally supposed to take place Sept.

18.

But now, because of the strike by screenwriters and actors in Hollywood, the awards show will be pushed back, NBC News reports.

.

A new date has yet to be determined, according to production officials.

The Writers Guild of America was first to go on strike in May, citing pay amid the era of streaming as a major grievance.

SAG-AFTRA joined the writers and went on strike earlier this month.

They also had concerns about wages in addition to AI's role within their industry.

The last time that both the WGA and SAG-AFTRA went on strike at the same time was in 1960.

The last time the Emmys were moved was in 2001.

That instance was in response to the 9/11 attacks
