Uttar Pradesh's winter assembly session was adjourned early Thursday amid protests by Samajwadi Party MLAs. They demonstrated against Union Home Minister Amit Shah's remarks on B.R. Ambedkar, accusing the BJP of disrespecting the architect of the Constitution. Speaker Satish Mahana's attempts to restore order, noting the SP members initially held Ambedkar's posters upside down, proved unsuccessful.
