Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of Light House Projects (LHPs) under Global Housing Technology Challenge-India on January 01 via video conferencing.
LHPs will be constructed in Indore, Rajkot, Chennai, Ranchi, Agartala and Lucknow, comprising about 1,000 houses at each location along with allied infrastructure facilities.

Rajkot recorded the turnout of 50.72%. Counting of votes is underway at a counting centre in Surat at Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology. Surat recorded the turnout of 47.14%. The six civic bodies- Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, Bhavnagar and Jamnagar were being ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Ahmedabad recorded the lowest turnout of 42.51% on voting day.
