Puducherry CM hails removal of Kiran Bedi as LG, calls it 'victory of people'
President of India removed Kiran Bedi as the Puducherry Lieutenant Governor, reacting to it, Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy said the move came as a victory for the people of the Union Territory.
He added that Bedi was being removed because of his and his party's pressure on Government of India and so they took the decision.
"She hampered the growth in here by her attitude of blocking welfare schemes," he added.
Tamilisai Soundararajan, former Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, resigned, hinting at contesting the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Her political journey includes previous electoral bids in Tamil Nadu, where she faced defeat. Soundararajan encountered disputes with the Telangana government during her tenure. The BJP, under K Annamalai's leadership, aims to aggressively campaign in Tamil Nadu, despite challenges following the AIADMK's withdrawal from their alliance.
