Tens of thousands of nurses and ambulance workers in England have walked out over an ongoing dispute between the unions and the government, with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak being blamed for refusing to negotiate on this yearās pay offer.

Rishi Sunak has defended backlash from the latest NHS figures which show waiting lists have risen by 330,000 since he promised to cut them, insisting that the government's plan is working.
