Operation Kaveri: First flight carrying Indians evacuated from Sudan lands in Delhi | Oneindia News
Last evening, a commercial plane carrying 360 Indians rescued from Sudan landed in New Delhi.
The Saudi Arabian Airlines flight departed from Jeddah King Abdulaziz International Airport at 1.56 pm and reached Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport at 9 pm.
The U.S. has imposed new sanctions on Sudan following allegations that Khartoum’s military used chlorine gas during its war with the RSF. The sanctions restrict arms sales, financing, and exports to Sudan’s government for at least one year, though humanitarian aid and agricultural products remain exempt. Washington calls the attacks part of a wider crisis that has killed tens of thousands and displaced 13 million. Sudan’s government denies the claims, calling them “political blackmail.” The U.N. labels Sudan’s war the world’s worst humanitarian disaster, with 25 million in need of food aid.
