After India, several nations reject China's new map citing illegitimate appropriation of territories
Governments in the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam and Taiwan have joined India in rejecting China's new national map, issuing strongly worded statements accusing Beijing of claiming their territory.
China had published a new version of its national map on Monday to correct what Beijing has in the past referred to as “problematic maps” that it claims misrepresent its territorial borders.
India, on Tuesday, had lodged a strong protest with China over its so-called "standard map" laying claim over Arunachal Pradesh and the Aksai Chin, and asserted that such steps only complicate the resolution of the boundary question.
India’s The Ministryof External Affairs Ministry had outrightly rejected China's claims as having "no basis".
Yesterday, several other nations joined India in making their displeasure clear to China.
The pair were accused of providing information to Beijing that could be “prejudicial to the safety or interests” of the UK between late 2021 and February 2023.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Friday as he wrapped up a three-day visit to China dominated by contentious issues and warnings from his hosts of another “downward spiral” in relations. The two met Friday afternoon local time at the Great Hall of the People, an ornate and cavernous building next to Tiananmen Square. Despite this, McDonald's said the company's revenue
increased 5% to reach $6.17 billion, while net income went
up 7% to $1.93 billion, in-line with Wall Street estimates.
'The Independent' reports that Muslim-majority
markets like Indonesia, Malaysia and the Middle East
have been boycotting McDonald's for months.
The boycotts started after a McDonald's franchise in
Israel announced in October that it would provide free
meals for Israeli troops amid the ongoing war in Gaza.
In the months since then, the company has tried to limit
the fallout by taking over all 225 McDonald's in the country
with the purchase of Alyonal Limited, its Israeli franchise.

Tragedy struck on Tuesday as two helicopters collided mid-air during a rehearsal for a Royal Malaysian Navy parade, resulting in the loss of ten lives.
