Russia and India Boost Military Cooperation Ahead of Rajnath Singh's Moscow Visit - Key Details
In a significant step towards enhancing defense relations, Russia and India have agreed to further strengthen their military cooperation, including participation in joint exercises and strategic knowledge-sharing.
This agreement, made during a meeting of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military and Military-Technical Cooperation (IRIGC-M&MTC) in Moscow, is aimed at improving operational coordination between the two forces.
The announcement comes just days ahead of Indian Minister of Defense Rajnath Singh's visit to Moscow, where he will hold high-level talks and commission a stealth frigate for the Indian Navy.
This move further solidifies the longstanding defense partnership between India and Russia, which includes joint development of advanced military systems like the BrahMos cruise missile, the S-400 air-defense system, and more.
US President Donald Trump has claimed Ukraine could be “crushed very shortly” unless it agrees to peace talks with Russia. In an interview with The Atlantic, Trump said he’s trying to save Ukraine by pushing for negotiations, suggesting Moscow is open to a deal. He criticized Kiev’s stance, especially on Crimea, and hinted Zelensky was tougher to negotiate with than Putin. Meanwhile, Vice President Vance echoed similar concerns, and Secretary of State Rubio warned of the US abandoning talks if delays persist. Trump is also seeking a minerals agreement with Ukraine.
