Mumbai's famous Karachi bakery, which received threats from MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) over its name being after a Pakistan city, has been closed, and new shop has opened at the place. In November last year, the chain had received a legal notice by MNS leader Haji Saif Shaikh, who also took the credit on Twitter after the shop was shut. The leader, however, denied any pressure from MNS behind the closing of the shop, and said the bakery chain was closed possibly due to lack of business as ordinary citizens prefer not to buy from shops named after Pakistani cities.

MNS chief Raj Thackeray said that state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh should resign in the wake of allegations levelled by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh and a thorough probe should be done into the matter."Anil Deshmukh should resign immediately. The main issue is that of an explosive-laden vehicle being found near the residence of an industrialist. I request the Central Government to intervene. The State government cannot investigate this matter," said Raj Thackeray.

Although details are not clear, but it appears these men are supporters of an islamist political party which is waging a protest against the French envoy demanding his expulsion.

A Sharjah-Lucknow IndiGo flight made an emergency landing on Tuesday in Pakistan's Karachi after a medical emergency.
According to an official statement by the airline, the passenger was declared dead on arrival in Karachi by the airport medical team.
An elderly passenger identified as 67-year-old Habib ur Rehman fell seriously ill. The official said that by the time the medical team boarded the flight to treat the passenger, he had died. IndiGo expressed condolences to the family of the passenger.
